Winners of the 2021 Insurance Asset Risk Awards

26 February 2021

Insurance Asset Risk is pleased to announce the winners of its 2021 Awards

If one lesson is to be drawn from this year's awards, it is that environmental, social and governance (ESG) issues permeate throughout all layers of firms' activities. Indeed, this year's nominations more than ever showcase a high level of awareness around ESG issues and often proved to be a key differentiator between winners and losers in the judges' eyes.

Overall, DWS came out on top with three awards, including a 'people's award' for its global head of insurance strategy and advisory, Marlon Rockenfeller, who won the young professional of the year prize.

Mirova retained its crown as responsible investor of the year, while also bagging the social investing initiative of the year award (a new category). Aviva Investors likewise claimed two awards: real asset manager of the year and stewardship initiative of the year (the latter also a new category).

Anna Ӧster, of Länsförsäkringar, took the judges' award for chief investment officer of the year.

The whole of Insurance Asset Risk's team would like to thank the industry for its support, and the judges for their time and expertise.
