The EY investment advisory team has been awarded Investment Strategy Consultant of the Year for its work across M&A, the bulk purchase annuity (BPA) sector, and for its investment risk management advisory efforts.

The team assisted a global reinsurer with the acquisition and valuation of a UK equity release mortgage portfolio to back reinsured annuity liabilities in Bermuda, including valuation methodology, assumption setting and model development.

In the flourishing BPA market, EY has led asset structuring initiatives to address the insurance asset sourcing gap. This includes structuring equity release mortgages into eligible RMBS, creating over £1bn of securities, and developing matching adjustment-eligible assets spanning climate, property, fund financing and royalties.

Complementing this expertise, EY has strengthened insurers' investment work by offering robust risk management frameworks, illiquid asset modelling and detailed risk limit analysis across asset classes, sectors and geographies—enabling clients to confidently make investment choices while maintaining disciplined risk oversight.
