Polish insurer PZU has appointed Robert Kubin as chief executive officer (CEO) of PZU Asset Management, Insurance Asset Risk has learnt.
Kubin has been chief investment officer (CIO) at PZU since September 2018. Prior to that, he was a director and head of portfolio management at MetLife.
Kubin’s appointment hasn’t been formally announced yet as the Polish insurer is still fine-tuning the details of the reshuffle.
In a recent webinar hosted by Insurance Asset Risk, Kubin argued greater communication across departments was key to the success of insurance companies in the context of low yields.
In 2018 PZU wrote 23.2bn Polish zloty ($6bn) of direct premiums, according to its solvency and financial condition report. PZU Asset Management manages assets for its parent as well as third party clients.
