Guardian hires Allstate, JP Morgan execs

Doug DupontGuardian Life Insurance Company of America has appointed two senior investment professionals, Doug Dupont and Doug Niemann, to newly-created managing director roles.

Dupont has joined from Allstate Investments and Niemann from JP Morgan Asset Management.

Reporting to Thomas Sorell, Guardian's chief investment officer,

Dupont is responsible for asset allocation and fixed income portfolio management and Niemann is in charge of asset liability and equity portfolio management.  Together, they will be responsible for the firm's investment policy and strategies for more than $65bn in assets including public and private equity, fixed income and commercial real estate.

Doug NiemannAt Allstate, Dupont most recently served as head of portfolio management where he was responsible for investment strategies to support products, communicating investment results, and maintaining relationships with risk, finance and business groups to provide economic projections.

Niemann most recently served as chief investment strategist, global insurance solutions at JP Morgan AM, developing investment products and vehicles to improve balance sheet management, enhance operating income and reduce portfolio risk profiles.

Both Dupont and Niemann have more than 20 years of investment experience.
