LGC hires green property policy expert as head of sustainability

Legal & General Capital (LGC), L&G’s alternative asset platform, has appointed John Alker as its head of sustainability, effective from 9 August.

Alker was previously director of policy and places at the UK Green Building Council (UKGBC), a business-led not-for-profit that works to influence industry practice and government policy. He has also served as board director for the World Green Building Council. 

In this new role, Alker will be the strategic sustainability lead within LGC, setting sustainability commitments. He will also measure the social impact of LGC’s broader strategy.
