Manulife IM appoints first managing director of institutional business for Greater China

Manulife Investment Management (IM) has hired Bing Liu as managing director of institutional business for Greater China, a newly-created position to help bolster the company’s coverage in the region.

Liu was previously head of Greater China at Australia’s Macquarie Asset Management. She has also worked at Lombard Odier, Societe Generale, and Carlyon Corporate and Investment Bank.

Based in Hong Kong, she will report to Peter Kim, Manulife IM’s head of institutional business for Asia Pacific. Manulife IM had CAD 966bn ($758bn) of assets under management and administration as at the end of 2020.
