Swiss Life’s net investment result dropped by 19% in 2020, to CHF 3.7bn ($4bn) from CHF 4.6bn in 2019.
Meanwhile the net investment yield fell to 2.2% compared to 2.9% in 2019. “This decline is primarily due to developments in the financial and foreign currency markets,” the company explained.
The company reduced allocation to corporates bonds by 1.5 percentage points (pps) to 25.2%, while equities dropped 1.4pps to 7.4%.
Swiss Life Asset Management posted net new assets of CHF 7.5bn in the third-party asset management business, increasing the year-end 2020 total to CHF 91.6bn from CHF 83bn in 2019.
