Insurance asset manager Malloy to move to Neuberger

Matt Malloy, the head of global insurance solutions at J P Morgan Asset Management for the past four years, is expected to join Neuberger Berman in the autumn, according to InsurerAM News, which said that Neuberger Berman declined to comment.

Malloy will lead Neuberger Berman's insurance asset management team. Neuberger is an independent, employee-owned firm which manages portfolios for institutions worldwide, including a growing number of insurers.

Neuberger's insurer general account assets under management totalled $6.9bn at year-end 2014, compared with $6.3bn in 2013.

During Malloy's time as head of insurance solutions for J P Morgan AM, insurance general account assets rose by more than $30bn to $77.8bn at year-end 2014.

Prior to joining J P Morgan in 2010, Malloy was managing director, global insurance asset management, at Goldman Sachs AM.
