Manulife lends to Canadian Solar project

Manufacturers Life Insurance Company (Manulife) has lent Canadian Solar C$52.8m (US$40.8m) in construction and term financing for development of the Aria solar plant in Springwater, Ontario.

Once operational, the plant will be acquired by Concord Green Energy, part of real estate developer Concord Pacific.

Founded in 2001 in Canada and listed on the Nasdaq exchange since 2006, Canadian Solar is one of the world's largest solar power companies.
