Morgan Stanley raises $1.7bn for global real estate fund

Morgan Stanley Real Estate Investing (MSREI) has raised $1.7bn for its G8 global real estate fund, known formally as North Haven Real Estate Fund VIII Global.

MSREI co-CEO & CIO John Klopp said, "Our partners in G8 are a sophisticated group of public and private pension funds, sovereign wealth funds, insurance companies, family offices and individuals from around the world."

According to Klopp's co-CEO & CIO counterpart, Olivier de Poulpiquet, the G8 investment programme is well under way, with transactions already closed in the US, UK, Austria, Japan and Australia.

North Haven is the closed-end fund family of Morgan Stanley Merchant Banking & Real Estate Investing, the direct private investment business of Morgan Stanley.
