Dupont, based in Paris, joined the firm in August as head of infrastructure finance from Axa Real Estate Investment Managers. Schroders said he will "build on his strong existing relationships with institutional investors, such as pension funds and insurance companies."

"We consider infrastructure finance to be an attractive asset class and one that is set for future growth," said Philippe Lespinard, Schroders' co-head of fixed income. "We believe it is currently benefitting from increasing demand from long-term institutional investors due to the increasing supply of projects, partly attributable to macroeconomic factors and changing regulations."

Prior to Axa REIM, Dupont was a founding partner at Antin Infrastructure Partners and served on the boards of various transport, energy and telecoms companies in Europe. He holds a master's degree in engineering from Ecole Polytechnique and graduated from Ecole Nationale d'Administration in France.
