Standard Life Investments adds to European equities team

Standard Life Investments has recruited Tom Dorner and Jonathan Fearon for its European equities team, increasing it to 12 people.

Dorner joins as an investment director, responsible for analysing a number of sectors including insurance companies. Based in Edinburgh, he has 13 years of investment experience and joins the company from Citigroup, where he was director of the European insurance sector.

Fearon will manage the Standard Life Investments European equity growth fund along with the European equity component of the global advantage fund, while analysing the European banking sector. He previously managed two European equity funds at Ignis Asset Management, whose acquisition by Standard Life Investments was completed in July.

Headquartered in Edinburgh, Standard Life Investments had assets under management of £260.3bn on 30 September.
